All you need to do is spray the sink liberally and cover all the areas that are covered with scum! It works so well, you might need to break out the sunglasses to protect your eyes from all that sparkle! It might seem strange to use these, but after getting them damp and rubbing them along the surface, the soap will break away with a little extra scrubbing. Over time, after layers and layers of soap scum have built onto the surface, it can become extremely hard and difficult to remove. A simple squeegee from Amazon can work wonders. For tough soap scum, Donna Smallin’s Cleaning Plain and Simple recommends sprinkling baking soda directly onto the stain and letting it sit for 15 minutes before scrubbing. And, just like that, the Magic Eraser will start powering through soap scum in just a few simple swipes. After that, you are good to go. Grab your funnel, or if you have a good aim like me, don’t use a funnel! The funny thing is that I use Calgon in my bath water all the time and my tub still looks like new. After choosing a cleaner, try using it immediately after a warm shower or bath.

The best way to prevent the formation of these hard water stains is by providing adequate care on time. They know what chemicals react best to destroy soap scum. To get the best results for cleaning your shower doors, mix it with borax (another abrasive compound associated with cleaning). Toilet bowl cleaning liquid is some strong stuff, and you don’t want to breathe it in. And don’t be frightened if you see it starting to bubble inside of the microwave, that is normal. Technically, you don’t. But, I wanted to give the “very miniature” chemistry lesson above to stress a point. For example, don’t use “All Purpose Cleaner” for a tough Scum Job. Do it regularly (at least every other week) and you’ll never have any problems ever again and you can use whatever soap you like. To avoid serious problems down the line and avoid having to spend a whole afternoon scrubbing your shower doors, it is necessary to clean glass shower doors on a daily basis and a squeegee can do the task for you.
